Why I use Linux ?

It’s a great question. Almost every colleagues, friends that had chance to see me work with, keep asking why use it instead of Windows ?. Why getting things complexes ?. To be honest, it’s a matter of taste and how things should be done. (I have no problem with Windows, except security concern). For me I was experiencing Microsoft Windows since the XP version at the age of 11 year-old. Of course, everyone should be able to recognize that operation system. I grew up with Windows Environment, but all on my way I always tried besides my age to customize my own Windows XP for better performance and looks.

Breaking stuff and getting them back. Backup system, Format and so on. I used to work with, to install programs, install cracks, patches… . Doing some black hat, or saying why not Script Kiddie things with it, of course people in the Infosec field will know what I’m talking about. Most programs being downloaded aren’t trustworthy not all of them of course, and can be a silent Trojan as a common “Bazooka” ^:^ at that time (can you guess what’s all about! Without hints).

For some creativity and curiosity learning something different, If stacking to Windows as already mention, I won’t be able to do things right. Customizing, editing, developing… . This year, with my 23 year-old, Gotta changed my life, as I permanently added Linux as my main OS on laptop. I was using it before on virtual machines, but now, as a main OS for daily uses. Of course, no one can neglect the learning curve that I experienced. But let us stay positive, without discussing problems right now to newcomers. But remember with enthusiast and persistence one would go far with almost everything.

Should I try it ?

To answer your question in a short way. Yes, of course you should try Linux. Everyone should at least try it. I don’t want to spoil its beauty, and yet again its powerful environment, that feeling when using the sudo command. You can wipe your entire system in a second if you aren’t aware of that. That’s why the command’s first-use, gives a fancy message that points to three things before asking for administrator password. The Three points can usually works in real life, (and should be) and are :

1) Respect the privacy of others.
2) Think before you type.
3) With great power comes great responsibility.

What a great world ! nyae ?
